All Day

What better to do than browse through poetry books in the month of April during National Poetry Month? We invite you to visit our National Poetry Month exhibit centered around this popular annual celebration of poetry. The exhibit will feature a selection of poetry books from both the Library’s circulating collection and our employees’ personal collections. Also on view will be favorite magnetic poetry kits and other poetic novelties suitable for the very special month of April: National Poetry Month.

Drop by Audrey’s Café on Poem in Your Pocket Day (April 27) for a free open mic night event to celebrate the holiday.

About National Poetry Month
Launched by the Academy of American Poets in April 1996, National Poetry Month reminds the public that poets have an integral role to play in our culture and that poetry matters. It has become the largest literary celebration in the world, with tens of millions of readers, students, K–12 teachers, librarians, booksellers, literary events curators, publishers, families, and—of course—poets, marking poetry’s important place in our lives.
