Fishing and Fishermen: the socioeconomics profiles of fisheries in Mexico. In dataMares: Fisheries. UC San Diego Library Digital Collections. https://doi.org/10.6075/J0TQ6029
- Description
-
The Mexican National Household Survey 2014 (ENIGH 2014) was used, in which the population working in the fishery sector (SCIAN 1141) performing activities related to fishing and aquaculture (SINCO 621) was identified. CONAPESCAS's national fishery production was then linked, assuming that fishermen report their fishings to the nearest office to its home locality. When more than one locality report its fishings to the same office, production was proportionally divided according to the number of fishermen in each locality.
