- Description
-
The R/V Sounder (Applied Physics Lab, Univ. of Washington) conducted coordinated oceanographic surveys with several other vessels during the Inner Shelf Experiment during September and October 2017. The surveys focused on the 10-m isobath near the shore and on the Point Sal headland. The surveys included a CTD (conductivity-temperature-depth) repeatedly cast behind the vessel and an ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) mounted to the vessel. The R/V Sounder operated for approximately 8 hours per day and surveyed at speeds of 1-2 m/s. The R/V Sounder was also used to deploy and recover SWIFT drifters, which are archived separately.
