Waileni women gather to cook special 'longo' or pudding, laplap and 'singo' or dye woven mats as part of a 'longo singo' ceremony for Toya, a Wallis Islander, a nurse at Lolowai, and the wife of Dresser Edwin, born in Waileni and employed at Lolowai Hospital. The ceremony has the effect of raising Toya's status.
