View of the Descanso Valley, facing south
- Collection
- Description
-
View of Descanso Valley from the north. The cultivable, mustard covered (dark) valley floor is being progressively destroyed by winter attacks of the arroyo from the east (left). The light area in the middle of the valley is a reentrant which was cut in the previous winter (1927). Shallow channels, cut by floods which jumped their arroyo banks, can be detected in the valley floor behind the reentrant. The trail to the south across the high measa can be seen ascending the farther slope, from right to left. [source: The Dominican Mission Frontier of Lower California. Plate 11a.]
