These recordings are part of the Archive for New Poetry collection at UC San Diego Library, Special Collections & Archives. These recordings include poetry lectures and discussions held at UC San Diego, including Michael Davidson's seminars and a contemporary poetry course taught by Jerome Rothenberg. They also include special poetry-focused events, typically held on campus but also in the local area, such as readings by poets Michael McClure, Jerome Rothenberg, Robert Duncan, and others. This collection also includes sound recordings of the 80 Langton Street Talk Series (now New Langton Arts). Poets include: David Bromige, David Antin, Robert Duncan, Bill Berkson, and more. Additional selections include recordings of poets and events suitable for the Archive for New Poetry, such as tapes previously owned by Leland Hickman, Charles Reznikoff, and Jack Shoemaker, featuring speakers such as Charles Olson, Robert Duncan, John Taggart, and more.
The tapes are not part of personal manuscript collections, but are individually cataloged in UC Library Search. Due to copyright restrictions, access to this content may be limited. This material is copyright-protected, and researchers must register with the Special Collections Request System to initiate requests to view this material using the Library's Virtual Reading Room Service.
