Summary

Francisco González Vicente was born in 1936 in La Peraleja , Cuenca. Francisco recalls his childhood. He recounts visiting his father and other family members, including Angustias Martínez Vicente, in various prisons in Cuenca and Madrid. Francisco relates becoming involved in underground anti-Francoist political activities organized by the Spanish Communist Party in the 1950s. He tells of traveling to the International Communist Party meeting in Prague in 1959. Francisco explains that upon returning to Madrid, he was detained for distributing propaganda, was taken to the Dirección General de Seguridad (General Security Directorate, DGS), and was placed in the Carabanchel Prison. He notes that a few days later, he was returned to the DGS because of his participation in the Prague meeting.
