Summary

Juan José Llopiz Joga was born in 1963 in Madrid. Juan José recounts that one month before he was born, the Francoists arrested his father, Vicente Luis Llopiz González, for his underground political activities with the Communist Party of Spain. Juan José recalls that his father was incarcerated in the Burgos Prison throughout his childhood. He relates traveling frequently with his mother, Natalia Joga Llopiz, to visit his father and describes the visits. Juan José discusses his own political trajectory, beginning with his participation in the Unión de Juventudes Comunistas de España (Communist Youth Union of Spain) when he was fourteen years old
