Description: The accession consists of six folders of material created and
collected by biologist Benjamin E. Volcani. The accession includes a few
items of correspondence in English and Hebrew, manuscripts and talks
including one entitled, “Dead Sea Talk.” The folder include one the
Weizmann Institute and one on the Hopkins Marine Station Centennial.
The accession also includes 8 color calendar printed lithographs of “Nobel
Laureate Contemporaries-Portraits of Progress” by Scientific Products, a
division of American Hospital Supply Corporation. These are printed color
portraits by artist Tom Hayden of Nobelists Melvin Calvin, Arthur
Kornberg, Fritz A. Lipmann, Hermann J. Muller, Albert Szent-Gyorgyi,
Edward L. Tatum, Harold C. Urey, and Selman A. Waksman. They appear
to date from the early 1960’s.
