DESCRIPTION: The collection consists of memoranda, minutes of
meetings, reports, and other records documenting the work of the
Marine Operations Committee. The collection includes minutes of
meetings dated 1968-1971 and 1914-1980. Minutes for 1972 and 1973
were not received with the collection. The collection also includes
information on ship scheduling, maintenance, safety, improvements
and use. A copy of the 1977 Chief Scientist's Manual is in this
collection.

Marine Operations Committee dated 1961 to 1975. The SIO Subject
Files also include a folder documenting the work of the Committee
dated 1974-1976. This folder is part of the records of the Director's
Office (Nierenberg).
