Information about UC San Diego Library services available during the campus winter closure can be found online.
While both Geisel Library and WongAvery Library will be closed, access to most of our online resources will be unaffected. Faculty, students, and staff can connect to Library-licensed online resources using Virtual Private Network (VPN) or UCSD-Protected Wi-Fi. Subject and Research Guides are available to help you navigate our online resources.
Instructors may continue to submit course reserve requests during the closure. Requests submitted after Friday, December 6, 2024, will be processed in the order received beginning January 2, 2025, and may not be available for student use until after winter quarter instruction has begun.
Instructor requests for streaming media to be used in Winter 2025 courses should be submitted as soon as possible through our Request a Purchase form. Contact streamingmedia@ucsd.edu with questions related to streaming media.
As noted on the Library Hours page, Geisel Library will close on Monday, December 23 at 6 p.m. and reopen on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 7:30 a.m. WongAvery Library will close on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 5 p.m. and reopen on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 10 a.m.
