UC Love Data Week Returns in 2024

UC Libraries and their partners are collaborating on another UC-wide Love Data Week from February 12-16, 2024. UC San Diego is hosting Feeding Curiosity: A Smorgasbord of Open Data Sources for Research, a lively discussion on finding and accessing open data for research. Registration for our event is open and required.

Now in its 4th year, UC Love Data Week brings students, faculty, and staff from across the UC system together to explore data tools, methodologies and platforms from various academic disciplines. With sessions designed to foster knowledge sharing and skill development, the event promises to empower attendees with valuable insights, tools, and strategies to navigate the intricate world of data. All events are free to attend and open to any member of the UC community.

With over 20 presentations and workshops, whether you’re working on qualitative or quantitative data, there’s plenty to choose from. Topics include:

  • Developing your data science portfolio
  • Remote and high-performance computing
  • Open Science Tools and Resources at UC
  • Wikipedia Edit-a-thon
  • Data Analysis without coding
  • Understanding Bias in AI tools
  • 3D Data
  • GitHub for Non-Coders
  • Drone Data 101
  • Open Data Resources
  • and much more!

All members of the University of California community are welcome to attend. Register with your UC campus email address. A Zoom link will be emailed to registrants before the workshop starts. Participants are expected to follow and uphold UC San Diego’s Principles of Community.
