Welcome back, Tritons! The Library is offering events and activities during Weeks 0-2 to welcome you back to campus. We’re so excited to see you again!
Week 0
Geisel Library Tours: September 26 and 27 at 10 and 11 a.m.
- Join us on a 30-minute guided tour around Geisel Library to learn more about the study spaces, library collections, technologies, equipment, services and amenities offered.
- Tours start at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. and begin at the Meet Spot on Geisel Library’s main floor.
- Tours are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited to 20 participants.
- Library visitors are asked to respect the needs of the campus community by minimizing interference, not blocking traffic, and keeping visits short. Tour groups are restricted to the 1st and 2nd floors of the building. Floors 4–7 are designated for quiet study, and floor 8 is for silent study.
Week 1
DIY Geisel Library Online Scavenger Hunt: Launching October 2
- Download and complete a self-guided online scavenger hunt for the inside scoop on Geisel Library. Find spaces, services and resources that can support you throughout your academic career.
- Students who visit and complete the scavenger hunt will be entered in a raffle to win a Geisel Library Prize Pack!*
- Scavenger hunts must be submitted by Friday, October 13 at 12 p.m. PT.
*Open to all current UC San Diego students. Winners must provide a valid UC San Diego-issued student identification card to claim the prize.
Week 2
Student Services & Academic Support Fair: October 10, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Discover ways to get connected and involved: explore 50+ academic and student services departments to learn about their resources, programs, and opportunities. (Be sure to stop by our Library table!)
Week 2
Geisel Library Open House: October 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Drop in to explore Geisel Library’s main floor and meet a few of our librarians and subject specialists so you know where to turn for help this year. Learn about helpful Library resources and services like tech lending, course reserves, the Data & GIS Lab, the Digital Media Lab, how to join the Library Student Advisory Council and more!
