For Love Data Week, we’ll be highlighting data-related resources available to the UC San Diego community. Whether you’re in the social sciences, arts and humanities, or STEM fields, the Library is here to help you find, use, and share data.

Did you know that the Library subscribes to many country-specific data resources?

Indiastat is a comprehensive portal to economic, social, political, and related statistics about India. Over half-a-million pages of statistical data are presented in a user-friendly Web format. Note that our campus subscription permits two (2) concurrent user connections; try again later if refused.

China Data Online provides access to monthly and yearly reports on China’s macroeconomic development, statistical databases about China’s population and economy at the county and city level, and financial indicators for industrial branches. Besides China Data Online, the Library also subscribes to a few other statistical databases about China, including the statistical yearbooks database.

The Latin American Public Opinion Project (LAPOP) has produced over sixty surveys, starting in 1978, analyzing public perceptions of the role of government, political tolerance, citizen participation, and corruption among other issues. Uniquely, it includes The Americas Barometer, which is viewed as the most comprehensive survey of democratic public opinion and behavior that covers the Americas.
