Starting in Spring Quarter 2026, Geisel Library will return to extended study hours, with 24-hour access five days a week (24/5) on Floor 2 East. A specific launch date will be announced soon.
We appreciate the partnership and dialogue with Associated Students and campus leadership that made this change possible, and are grateful to Chancellor Khosla for ensuring we have the resources needed to deliver this service.
The 24/5 schedule will be in effect during the academic year and will not include intersession periods or Summer Session I or II. A valid campus ID will be required to enter the space. Students are encouraged to visit lib.ucsd.edu/hours for the most current information.
