Join the Audrey Geisel University Librarian, Erik Mitchell and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alysson Satterlund as we celebrate the 115th birthday of Dr. Seuss and National Read Across America Day!
Arrive early for the cake and stay for an hour of Seussical whimsy with punch, carnival games, prizes, giant inflatable Seuss characters, music from the Teeny Tiny Pit Orchestra, and a reading of Happy Birthday to You! in honor of its 60th anniversary.
In recognition of National Read Across America Day, we’re also hosting a book drive. Bring a new or gently used book and we’ll donate it to the Friends of the San Diego Public Library.
In addition to the birthday festivities, a small exhibit of materials from the book Happy Birthday to You! will be on view from Monday, February 25 through Sunday, March 24 on the main floor of Geisel Library.
