The Library has partnered with the UC San Diego Bookstore to curate Science!, an exhibit featuring fiction and non-fiction science books handpicked by Bookstore staff along with other educational novelties. The exhibit is located at the Biomedical Library Building in the breezeway display cases and will be on view through March 31.
Science! also promotes the Bookstore’s monthly Coffee & Book Chat event which takes place every third Wednesday at 12 PM inside the Bookstore. Attendees receive free coffee and exclusive coupons, including a 25 percent coupon good for general book items and at Audrey’s Café at Geisel Library.
The Library and the Bookstore
The Library and Bookstore have a long history of shared interests in presenting author talks, Banned Books Week programming, National Poetry Month observances, monthly Book Chats and many other collegial collaborations.
The Bookstore has a strong leadership role in San Diego’s thriving independent bookstore community, and every April the Bookstore draws hundreds of San Diegans to campus for its very own celebration of national Independent Bookstore Day.
The booksellers at UC San Diego Bookstore know their customers’ interests and are a vital part of our campus culture. In spirit, current and past UC San Diego Bookstore booksellers are represented as curators in this winter quarter exhibition.
