Ravens: “Forever More!” | Exhibit

When
Oct 3, 2021–Dec 12, 2021
All Day

An exhibit celebrating the new USPS Forever Raven Story postage stamp and the beloved pairs of ravens that nest discretely in the eaves of Geisel Library is on display at Geisel West, 1st floor from October 3 through December 12, 2021. The exhibit is, largely, a curated set of raven items that our Library staff usually feature as part of their personal desk displays: raven books, raven charms, raven novelties and raven-related Indigenous art—all demonstrating respect and affection for the beloved book-loving ravens that are a part of our everyday life at Geisel Library. The exhibit also embraces the traditions of the many cultures that see the raven as a bird of powerful importance.

The USPS Forever Raven Story stamp, inspired by the raven’s significance to the Indigenous people of the Northwest coast and the inspiration for this special Library raven visitation,  is described in detail on the USPS website.
