The UC San Diego Department of Literature’s New Writing Series returns this fall with a number of events taking place virtually! Learn from talented authors

Divya Victor is the author of CURB (Nightboat Books); KITH, a book of verse, prose memoir, lyric essay and visual objects (Fence Books/ Book*hug); Scheingleichheit: Drei Essays (Merve Verlag); NATURAL SUBJECTS (Trembling Pillow, Winner of the Bob Kaufman Award), UNSUB (Insert Blanc), THINGS TO DO WITH YOUR MOUTH (Les Figues). Her work has been collected in numerous venues, including BOMB, the New Museum’s The Animated Reader, Crux: Journal of Conceptual Writing, The Best American Experimental Writing, POETRY, and boundary2. She has been an editor at Jacket2 (United States), Ethos Books (Singapore), Invisible Publishing (Canada) and Book*hug Press (Canada). She is currently Associate Professor of English at Michigan State University.

Marco Wilkinson was born in Rhode Island to Uruguayan parents. He has been a horticulturist, farmer, and editor, in addition to being a professor of creative writing and sustainable agriculture. He currently teaches at James Madison University and in Antioch University’s MFA Program He has been the recipient of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence as well as fellowships from the Hemera Foundation, Craigardan, and the Breadloaf Environmental Writers’ Conference. Madder: A Memoir in Weeds, published by Coffee House Press in October 2021, is his first book.

This event is hosted by the Literature Department and will be archived and made available through the Library’s Archive for New Poetry in Special Collections & Archives.
