Geisel Library Chimes featured in La Jolla Symphony premiere May 2 at 7:30 p.m., May 3 at 2:00 p.m.
Guest conductor Christopher Rountree, leads La Jolla Symphony in a unique program featuring a new work by UC San Diego PhD student Yeung-ping Chen. Chen has composed a truly twenty-first century work, a “tele-concerto” in which the orchestra will be in Mandeville and the soloist will “appear” with the orchestra via the internet. Soloist for the piece is the Library’s own Scott Paulson, who will be on the roof of Geisel Library performing on the Library chimes.
