Dr. Seuss’s 116th Birthday Celebration

When
Mar 2, 2020
11:45 AM–1:00 PM

Due to conflicting activities on campus, we have cancelled the Seuss Day celebration at Geisel Library. Our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this might cause.

Join Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Elizabeth H. Simmons, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Alysson Satterlund, and the Audrey Geisel University Librarian Erik Mitchell for Seuss Day, a celebration of both Dr. Seuss’s 116th birthday and National Read Across America Day. The event will take place outside the Geisel Library by the Silent Tree on Monday, March 2 from 11:45 AM to 1 PM.

Attendees can enjoy a piece of cake and an hour of Seussical whimsy with punch, carnival games, prizes, party hats, buttons, giant inflatable Seuss characters, music from the Teeny Tiny Pit Orchestra, and more. All elements of this celebration are free and open to students, faculty, staff, and the public.

In addition to the birthday festivities, a small exhibit of materials from Seuss’s book Happy Birthday to You! will be on view from February 14 through March 15 on the main floor of Geisel Library.

Help us build the hype around this event by sharing it with your family, friends, and peers on social media using #UCSDSeussDay.
