“Create Your Own Geisel” 50th Anniversary Contest

Participate in our “Create Your Own Geisel” contest for a chance to win one of nine (9) UC San Diego Bookstore e-gift cards! As part of Geisel Library’s 50th anniversary celebration, we’re inviting the campus community to tap into their creativity and construct an original expression of the building using any medium they choose. From baking or building to painting, drawing or composing, all artistic forms are welcome.

Entry period: Friday, December 18, 2020 (12:01 a.m. Pacific Time) – Friday, January 22, 2021 (11:59 p.m. Pacific Time)

Who can enter: Current UC San Diego students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members

Entry categories: Submissions will be organized into three (3) categories based on participant’s affiliation. Each category will award prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place with gift cards totaling $75, $50, $25 (respectively). The categories are as follows:

  1. Current Students: participants in this category are current UC San Diego students who are enrolled in courses for Winter Quarter 2021.
  2. Faculty & Staff: Participants in this category are current UC San Diego faculty or staff members
  3. Alumni & Community Members: Participants in this category are UC San Diego alumni or members of the community.

After the entry period has ended, a panel of judges from the Library will score all eligible entries based on creativity, artfulness and representation of the contest theme. The three highest-scoring entries in each category will go on to the voting period, where members of the public will vote for their favorite entries in one or more category by “liking” and commenting on them on the Library’s social media pages and/or website.
