Come out to the 49th annual Chicano Park Day in Barrio Logan on Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. This free community event includes food, music, speakers, arts & crafts, kids art workshops, info booths, and over 325 classic lowrider cars and bikes throughout the park. This year’s celebration will feature dance with several groups performing throughout the day.
For the fifth year, the UC San Diego Library will have an information booth to promote its Chicano Studies collections. Participation in the event is a wonderful opportunity to engage with the community, demo the Digital Collections website, and increase awareness of the Library’s Digital Collections, including the Herman Baca Papers and the Farmworker Movement Documentation Project. A Spotify playlist has been compiled with music related to the collections.
