To celebrate Black History Month, the Library invites you to explore the theme African Americans and Labor, a special exhibit centering on the vital contributions of Black Americans to labor history and union leadership.
Through highlighting the profound role of African Americans in shaping labor movements and fighting for economic and social justice, the Library curated a selection of books, materials, historical labor documents, labor-themed pins, and more for UC San Diego and the greater community.
As part of the exhibit, undergraduate scholar and activist Christina Marie Green will lead the accompanying event associated with this exhibit on Tuesday, February 11 from 12-1:30 p.m., providing further insights into the intersections of Black history and labor activism. Attendees will have the opportunity to create D.I.Y. pins and fans.
