Become a Member of the Library Student Advisory Council – Apply Today!

Looking to make an impact on campus but not sure where to start? Join the Library Student Advisory Council (LSAC), a group of undergraduate students who play an important role in shaping the Library’s policies, services, spaces, and collections!

Applications for the 2019/20 academic year are being accepted through October 1, 2019.

What is LSAC?

The Council consists of student representatives from all over campus who meet regularly with Library leadership to provide insight, advice and recommendations on how the Library can best support students’ educational experience at UC San Diego. The council meets twice a quarter on Tuesday evening at 5:00 p.m.

What is expected of members?

We are looking for students who bring a diversity of perspectives, academic experiences, and personal backgrounds. Members are asked to:

  • convey student needs, concerns, and priorities to the Library
  • provide advice and feedback on Library policies, services, and spaces
  • share ideas and input on the design and implementation of new Library services
  • share insights into student study, research, and Library use habits
  • help communicate information about Library services and resources to the student community

What will I gain from the experience?

Participation can provide connections for future references; be an opportunity to meet new friends and help create the kind of campus community students want.
