Caption from published source: A friend of thirty years…My bill creating the Race Relations Commission of California was the first legislation of it's kind ever passed in the United States. Inspired by Dennis Allen, the idea was to bring different nationalities together in friendship and understanding for better citizenship...With Allen, I secured positions for the first four colored citizens ever employed by Consolidated Aircraft Company. For 25 years or more, Dennis V. Allen has been leader and President of the San Diego Race Relations Society (Fletcher, 1952, p. 506).
