Aerial shots of Slab City show a checkerboard effect of farmed and fallow land parcels below in shades of green from the different crops. Also, LS of campers, RVs, trailers as the airplane flies along. Zooms and pans of the canal, Leonard’s mountain, gullies. [Also, see tape #66 for additional taped footage from airplane.] Though the aerial shots are okay at times, they generally tend to move too quickly with zooms and the motion of the airplane. Jim Campbell is now on tape for the first time. He is with a friend and describes the process of retrieving gold and silver from military objects. Though Jim relates engaging stories, the video quality is questionable and too dark.
Consequent tapes when Campbell is outdoors are stronger technically. Cutaways and B-roll on this tape of his desert home are okay at times, but video isn’t that great here because of interior lighting. - Creation Date
