- Description
-
Nima is a former artist who owned MCA which was a popular large guest house complex in Old Dali that had living arrangements for a wide range of customers from young backpackers to celebrities at reasonable prices. It had a restaurant and outdoor cafe, a small swimming pool, an art gallery and apartments in the back rented by Chinese film directors. Xiaojian (wife) and I stayed in the one rented by Liu Fendou (film director) for free on three different occasions for a total of three months. Every year Nima hosted parties and cultural events. This photograph of Nima (R) with young poet (L) was taken at a party for Chinese writers who were in Dali.
