Ping: Projections: Notes on projected text

One negative shot (originals utilized stenciled black letters laid out on identical white cardboard sheets). One of many dozens of such designs done by Karen Reynolds. Her overall task was to present the complete Beckett text for Ping on a series of slides projected alternatively from two 35 mm projectors, placed side by side, but projecting onto the same field. By using negatives as slides for projection, the outcome achieved was white letters on a black field. These letters were then colored and distorted according to optical devices and specially built colored filters manipulated by "performers" of the text.
