Still at the bombing range with Jim ambling about and pointing to small bombs laying on ground. “This is a missile here, no it’s a chemical aircraft tank…it has to be a fuel tank.” (camera zooms in for tighter shot)
Close-ups of fins on bombs, twisted metal and two yellow bombs extending from ground. “We’re standing on Drop 13 and 13 is the north end of most of the targets…where they bomb is from 13 down to 8.”
“Right now no more than seven people are making money off the range…they’re not bombing like they used to.”
Campbell explains his business—“I make a living from buying from other people…the material I want, no one even knows what it is."
“Myself, I go out twice a month. Last year, every Saturday and Sunday, but not now. Number one, we’re actually cleaning up the range…I live the kind of life I want to live. You only need so much for food.”
Jim goes into his family life and how he was raised a vegetarian—“Never ate milk, butter or eggs till I ran away at 16…never had any reaction to any of the chemicals.” “If you do the same thing for 20 or 30 years and it’s hazardous, it’ll do something to you.”
Also noteworthy on this tape is how Jim stands among the bombs while talking towards the beginning of tape. Pan shot of assorted bombs in pile and cutaways of same are also good. Video and audio are good for almost all of tape. Also, he stands closer to mic for much of interview, which makes for stronger sound. - Creation Date
