Page 18 illustration from Paul Dayton's 1970 University of Washington dissertation: Competition, Predation, and Community Structure: The Allocation and Subsequent Utilization of Space in a Rocky Intertidal Community. Dissertation review by a University staffperson discovered that page 18 was skipped over in Dayton's dissertation, which halted acceptance of Dayton's dissertation. Dayton quickly inserted a required page 18, which was a photo of himself shaking hands with President Lyndon Baines Johnson.
