Murdock G. Ross, captain of R/V Scripps

Ross was on board the R/V Scripps on November 13, 1936 when she exploded and sank at her mooring in the San Diego Yacht Club harbor. The cause of the accident was never determined by the insurance company; perhaps a boiler accident, perhaps something in the galley.
