Inscription | Mission of San Diego De Alcala, founded July 16th, 1769 by Father Junipero Serra. The First of the California Missions. The olive trees planted by the Franciscans in that year are still alive and bearing fruit. Main building is over 150 feet long and walls are three feet thick. Southern California Views. This is one of a series of 300 San Diego views. Ten or more different views may be obtained by sending one cent each in coin or stamps to Eno & Matteson, San Diego, Cal. |
