Boats tied to jetty at Nkamba Bay on Lake Tanganyika

In 1976 Sumbu game park still had large herds of elephant roaming its land. While roads to the Nkamba Bay Lodge were not in great shape, they were certainly passable in the dry season and many tourists/vacationers took advantage of its scenic location and proximity to game. Boats were usually utilized for sport fishing, but some pleasure craft were there as well.
