YES campaign: By voting NO, violence and destruction will return. The false happiness promised by NO masks disorder, inflation, and fear. Chile is better off under Pinochet than it was before. Felipe Jerez Fernandez (a Chilean living in Peru) says Chile is better off than other countries in Latin America. Vote YES for liberty, democracy, and harmony. Economic progress through the grape industry. Alberto Espina and Evelyn Matthei (National Renovation) discuss better job opportunities for skilled workers through technical training.
NO campaign: NO to censorship. NO offers freedom of expression. Silvio Rodriguez sings (as an example of no censorship). Pinochet has stated that totalitarian governments censor the press (as proof that he is not totalitarian), yet he wrote a document to censor the NO campaign. Nissim Sharim explains that NO was censored for trying to expose the tortures, disappearances, and cruelties of the Pinochet regime. Tennyson Ferrada discusses better government opportunities/support for sports and cultural endeavors in 1969. Carolina Arregui talks about equal living opportunities for all Chileans free of fear and selfishness. Countries worldwide do not like Pinochet. - Event Date
