- Note
-
Bita Saetana was from Kwao, just south of the mouth of Sinalagu Harbour. He died in the late 1980s. His name is the Kwaio pronunciation of "Peter Satan," a name he adopted after a financial dispute with a missionary.
Bata is a generic name for shell money or money. Saetana speaks of kofu, a locally made money of coneshell. Legend has it that kofu originated from Saetana's place of Kwao. Characters in its origin story are Kwanaduu, Gataboo, Rigisi, Kwa’ifaafimae, and Too’ola.
Recording is a continuation of Keesing Cassette Tape 006-007.
