When steel junk was inadvertently left in the bore hole at Site 462, during the Deep Sea Drilling Project, a mill was threaded on the end of the drill string. The mill drilled up the junk, after which drilling and coring continued. A futile attempt to recover the steel junk was made by using junk baskets before turning to the mill. 1978.
