Leaf Umbrellas

Longanans called this plant 'lif ambrela' or leaf umbrella, which grows alongside the Longana road. Bill Rodman experienced firsthand their good protection against a sudden shower. These large, broad leaves also are used to wrap lap-lap before it is put into the earth oven to cook.
