Search, Approach, Attack, Evasion - titled cartoon drawing used as a training aid for the U.S. Navy which was created by Sam Hinton as editor of illustration at the University of California Division of War Research (UCDWR). Hinton in his diverse career would later join Scripps Institution of Oceanography as a marine biologist and would eventually become the director of the Thomas Wayland Vaughan Aquarium-Museum. Circa 1939-1945.
