Cassava garden in village of Mukupa Katandula
- Collection
- Description
-
In the 1970s, transport from outside the area was not common, so the more common maize flour was not readily available. Cassava was for many years the staple crop/food in the area, dried and pounded into flour or eaten roasted in large pieces. Root crops tend to be more resistant to pests and drought.
