African American musician performing in Dali
- Collection
- Description
-
There was a period in Dali when local officials allowed foreign musicians to work and perform in local bars, restaurants and cafes without official permission but that has changed. Consequently, these are few foreigners who perform in Dali except for special concerts. This photograph was taken in a restaurant. The musician is an African American saxophonist who has active in various jazz scenes in Boston, NYC, Paris and in Asian countries. He was living in Dali with his Chinese wife and young children, but was forced to leave Dali after the local laws changed.
