Mats 09 of 17 Turmeric for Mat Dying

Local turmeric used to be the main dye used in the making of mats. May Kambu holds a sleeping mat that probably was dyed with the red dye imported by local trade stores from Chinese stores in Santo. Dying mats with commercial dye has become common practice in Longana.
