The 2nd-4th works originally songs for voice and piano, recomposed by the composer for orchestra; in this recording, the vocal line replaces the instrument that Ives had assigned to the melody
The Ives songs appear to be takes from a recording session
The last reader interrupted before ending, and conductor gives notes to musicians (as in an unused recording take)
