Dried Boars' Jaws

In 1970, some (but not many) rank-takers hung the dried jaws of pigs they had killed in a rank-taking ceremony from the roof near the entry to their 'na gamal.' Such a display of tusks provides a visual memory of the occasion, but many Longanans regarded such displays as a sign of pride and lack of humility.
