Celebration of the completion of the Lee southern transcontinental highway. Ed Fletcher unveiled the marble Pacific Coast Milestone as President Coolidge, in his Washington office, touched an electric button that rang a gong in the plaza opposite the U.S. Grant Hotel. Fletcher then read the President's message and delivered his own remarks.
