The Famous Persian Gardens at Samarkand, Santa Barbara, California
Back
Inscription | Pasadena, Calif. Oct. 24 - '44. Dear D: We had a nice trip down here yesterday. W. had left the key for us to go in the house. - I can understand why you like to come here so much. The house is charming, and a lovely view, and W. is "tops". We are just being lazy today. - are invited over to one of W.'s friends for tea this afternoon so she will pick us up at 4 P.M. - is taking us over the hill later. I think to see that lot you told us about. We are looking forward to seeing you Fri. A.M. We went to see Mrs. P. in Santa Barbara Sunday, had a very pleasant visit. Love, Mother. Samarkand, world famous Persian Hotel, lies atop a sunlit knoll overlooking the lovely green valley of Santa Barbara, the blue Pacific, and the colorful Santa Ynez Mountains. |
