In 2010 the UCSD School of Medicine added student evaluation teams (SET) to the medical education review process in addition to previously implemented student submitted online evaluations. SET groups comprise of sixteen randomly students who are assigned to evaluate at least one course during the year. Other participants in the meeting include respective course directors, thread directors, clinical educators, course assistants, and administrative deans. Students are encouraged to provide constructive feedback throughout the session and faculty are encouraged to listen carefully and ask clarifying questions as needed. The impact of SET on curricular changes has not been evaluated previously. This project aimed to study the impact of SET on curricular change in both the short term and long term for core courses in the second year medical school curriculum
