New York City-based artist Judith Barry created a video installation for inSITE2000 that was viewable in four large windows of the old First National Bank Building on the corner of Broadway and 5th Avenue in downtown San Diego. Barry envisioned the programming on these four large screens as a simulation of a broadcast network containing elements created by the artist, as well as contributions by other inSITE artists, established film directors, and students. Barry spent weeks in the region collecting materials to create seven short films that became part of this network - a project she titled "Border stories working title from one side to another." These films were shot on both sides of the border and explored the recollected stories of border experiences. --inSITE2000
