- Description
-
This CAVEcam was shot in the Temple of Ramesses III at Medinet Habu. Of particular interest is the existing colors on the columns and ceilings, and the clear graffiti from 1817 and 1818. The overexposed portions of the image were, of course, due to the bright sunlight, and inspired subsequent taking of multiple exposures to attempt high-dynamic range (HDR) captures of scenes like this.

Dick Ainsworth -- VR rendering with Adobe Lightroom to adjust exposure and extend dynamic range, stitching in PTGui, and final adjustments in Photoshop. Several HDR techniques were used to literally construct this final image from multiple exposures. Image cloning between left and right channels was necessary to provide matching images of people in highlight areas, as well as building detail in the far background.
