More swap meet coverage—interview with Jeanette Pearson, which began on Reel 181, addresses expenses of people on seller’s row and tie-in between swap meet income and other sources of money.
“Why shut it down? I have no idea…too much freedom. I’ve been everywhere and this is the only place like this…maybe go to Yuma, they have a good swap meet there.”
Glenda Phelps (transsexual) is now on tape at swap meet. “I’ve been on disability a long time. I raised two kids on $260/month to rent and live like a normal person, making the landlord rich.”
“Free America is gone. I felt freer in the ‘50s, when I was young, than I do now”
“Been a road warrior, outlaw, ever since I got out of the military after Korea…I’ll be 61 in a couple of weeks, I’m not worried about it.” Glenda is a lively and strong interview, but his appearance on tape makes him stand out in relation to other people, too. - Creation Date
